Matthew became intrigued with acting after performing skits with a few acting friends and taking a public speaking course at his alma mater, Washington State University. Fascinated and enthusiastic with the art of acting, he enrolled in the notable Freehold Theatre/ Lab Studio and trained with Stefan Enriquez. In an effort to perfect his acting skills he took private lessons with acting instructor David S. Hogan in Seattle, WA. He is currently studying a technique class at the Speiser / Sturges Acting Studio in Los Angeles, CA.
Matthew has recently worked in the featured film, Never Heard, for Sony Pictures starring Romeo Miller, Karrueche Tran and David Banner. He is also going to be in the upcoming featured film, JINN, starring Simone Missick and Kelvin Harrison Jr. He was featured in a recent Goodyear online commercial and has also been a guest speaker on several news stations, documentaries and videos honoring his late father, LAPD SWAT officer Randy Simmons, who was tragically killed in the line of duty -- An episode of Life of Duty: Protect and Serve by NRA and for Continuing a Legacy: Randal D. Simmons by CrossFit.
Matthew is actively looking for opportunities to demonstrate his natural ability to transform into various characters. He is a hard worker and is determined to commit as many hours necessary to establish himself as a great actor in the industry.
